In the webinar “Meaningfully Assessing English Learners in Local and Statewide Academic Assessments: What Does It Entail?”, Dr. Kopriva will discuss how to include most meaningfully the heterogeneous range of ELLs in state academic assessment systems measuring the grade level content and the achievement standard performance levels identified for all students. Research in three areas (Sirici’s recent model studied in Michigan, computer-based assessments, and portfolio) will be identified, as well as the advantages and disadvantages of each.
